Meest Canada stands out for its swift delivery and reasonable prices, making it a convenient option for shipping parcels globally from Canada. Ensuring proper completion of accompanying documents is crucial to avoid surpassing limits for Canadian customs and adhere to the recipient's country regulations for swift package delivery. For further details on Canadian customs limits, you can explore additional information below.
As the sender, you must complete the CN 23 international customs declaration form when preparing your parcel. This form is mandatory for all shipments crossing international borders.
Complete the declaration correctly:
IMPORTANT! All parcels must be addressed only to real recipients who live at the specified addresses.
Each country, including Canada, has its own customs limit on the free import of parcels. Suppose the declared value of the parcel exceeds Canadian duty limits. It means the recipient will have to pay customs duty.
Suppose you're sending a parcel from Toronto, Hamilton, Ottawa, Calgary, Vancouver, Montreal, or any other province to Ukraine or an EU country, and the declared value of the package remains under 150 EUR. In that case, the recipient won't be required to pay duties. The parcel will be swiftly dispatched to the recipient's address without experiencing delays at customs or incurring any additional fees.
If the Canadian border limits are exceeded, the recipient pays a fee when the parcel passes through customs. The cost is calculated using the following method:
Parcel value - 150 EUR = 10% duty and 20% VAT.
The recipient is responsible for paying the fee. If your parcel is delayed at customs, you'll usually have some time to pay charges before the box will be sent back.
IMPORTANT! Meest delivers parcels from Ukraine to Canada with post-payment. In this case, if you exceed Canadian customs declaration limits, it should be indicated in the declaration that the Recipient agrees to pay for the delivery of the parcel, brokerage fee for customs clearance, and/or duty or VAT upon arrival of the parcel in Canada if the parcel’s cost is more than 20 CAD.
